<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It also ensures that you’re not keeping any unnecessary stuff or throwing away anything important. When the space is empty, it’s easier to clean and organize to better utilize the available space.  </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For instance, when you’re decluttering your closet, you should take out all your clothes and other stuff stored in the closet. Check each item separately and ask yourself the following questions.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One of the most important steps for proper decluttering of any room is having storage space. If you don’t already have storage space in your room, get help from a designer and integrate some storage space. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It can be wall shelves or floor shelves. This way you can store your already packed stuff in those cabinets and access them easily when you need them without digging through your closet. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If not, you need to make sure that you regularly vacuum or clean under your bed as otherwise, your stuff is just going to keep gathering dust there.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I prefer to keep this space empty for easy cleaning, and because it’s not easy to access stuff under my bed. If you have enough storage space in your room, you don’t need to store anything under your bed. </span></p>

<h3><b>8. Organize any shelves or tables</b></h3>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Shelves and tables are often the easiest to get messy. They are open and it’s just too convenient to toss that change money, receipt, keys, wallet, watch, etc on them. </span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is the reason why you need to keep dedicated spaces for everything you own. Keep a storage bowl or tray on one of the tables or shelves to keep your keys and wallet. </span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Make it a habit to get rid of receipts as soon as it’s paid or even better ask for digital receipts. Always keep table tops, nightstands, shelves, and any open space like this free of clutter and only keep what belongs there. </span></p>
